Accreditation

The next stage in your development as a social value practitioner

The Professional Pathway is a three-level professional qualification for those looking to understand, measure and report on social value. It assesses their skills, knowledge and practice in impact management so they can become effective social value practitioners. The Professional Pathway is also the precursor to becoming a trainer or assurance assessor for Social Value International (SVI) and its affiliates.

The Professional Pathway is an individual accreditation and not a training course. It operates in conjunction with SVI’s Accredited Training courses including those listed above.

By joining the professional pathway, you will be showcasing your skills and expertise to potential clients, employers or partners. Not only that, you will be joining a community of experts who are shaping the standards and changing the way the world accounts for value.

Stand out from the crowd, and demonstrate your knowledge and skills in social value and impact management. Join the Professional Pathway today.

Level 1

The Level 1: Social Value Associate is the first step in SVI’s three-tiered professional pathway  to build the capacity of our members in the practice of social value. To become accredited Level 1, you need to be a member of Social Value International, either directly or through our Joint Members Networks. Then you fill out the Application Form (link below), pay the fee, and take the Level 1. The exam is assessed through multiple choice, True/False or ‘fill in the gaps’ style questions, and is split into 6 sections mirroring the modules of the popular Social Value and SROI Practitioner Training (Accredited by SVI). The exam takes 90 minutes to complete.

Preparation for the level 1 exam is entirely safe-paced, and you can take the exam anytime you feel ready and well-prepared to do so. One must achieve level 1 before moving to level 2, as level 1 is the entry point to the professional pathway.

Pricing

The Level 1 exam is priced based on the income category of the country in which the applicant is based, using the World Bank Country and Lending Groups.

Level 2 Accredited Practitioner status is an internationally recognized qualification that demonstrates practical application of social value and impact management. It is an ideal qualification for people who are already Social Value Associates and are looking to demonstrate applied skills in social or environmental impact analysis, managing non-financial impacts, and social impact reporting. This certification can assist individuals in advancing their careers across a range of sectors.

The first step to becoming a Level 2 Accredited Practitioner is to achieve Level 1 Social Value Associate status. As a Level 1 Social Value Associate, you will have demonstrated your understanding of The Principles of Social Value and how they are implemented, and your passion for changing the way the world accounts for value.

To progress to Level 2: Accredited Practitioner you will put this theoretical knowledge into practice by writing an SROI or Social Impact report.

You are also required to have successfully completed an SVI Accredited Training course. This is a required step as it is fundamental to prepare you with the skills and knowledge to be able to undertake your social value or SROI practice.

More information about Level 2 can be found on SVI’s website here: Become a Level 2 Accredited Social Value Practitioner.
